Do you love decorating for Christmas? If so, you can also help raise money to help sustain environmental education programs for thousands of children while making our neighborhood shine!

We are excited to announce Lights for the Land – a holiday Christmas light competition and fundraiser. Your participation in this event will go toward supporting environmental education, trail maintenance, land stewardship, and community programming with our school systems, private groups, and families in Bartow and surrounding counties.

The winner of the light competition will win a trophy, a year’s family membership to the Pettit Preserve, and will be recognized in local and social media!

The lights competition will run from December 1st-28th. Donations must be turned in by 5 PM on December 29th and the winner will be announced on December 30th.

The Preserve staff will number each participant’s home and place lighted festive yard signs with directions on how to vote for your home to win! Signs will contain a QR code provided by The Preserve so donations can be easily made.

Every dollar donated equals one vote, and the Home with the most votes wins! We will be advertising on Patch, Facebook, Instagram, and the radio. We will also be posting a banner at the Waterford clubhouse. You’re free to request votes on Facebook as well to increase your voting chances.
