We are proud to play such a big role in our community here in Cartersville, Georgia. Our passion for the outdoors has helped us leave a footprint in our local area, form wonderful relationships with other small businesses, and bring hundreds of families, schools, Scouts, and more to the Preserve every year.
Thank you to all who continue to inspire the people here at the Pettit Environmental Preserve, and to those who recognize us as a trailblazer for outdoor learning and experiences.

We Planted One-of-a Kind Trees...

Years ago, the chestnut tree outnumbered others with over 4 billion in total, and now, we are planting more to save the species!

The Preserve received five chestnut trees from Berry College through a program that the Rome-Seven Hills Rotary Club set up to distribute these trees. The Preserve was selected because of its location, educational programs, and willingness to participate in this program.

Our staff will continue to monitor the growth and health of the trees. Join us as a visitor to learn more and get first-hand knowledge about the return of the Chestnut tree.

A Big Thank You to the Rotary Club

We received a grant from the Bartow Rotary Club to purchase recyclable picnic tables. Our visitors can now picnic and gather on the patio area!

Head to the Preserve soon for a field trip, a picnic with the family, or just to say hello!
